"Have a Heart for the Philippines", a fundraising initiative from the 9th Grade Pupils of the European School in Frankfurt that was held last November 25, 2013. These dedicated children participated in selling cakes to help the victims of Typhoon Haiyan. The proceeds were then handed over by the head of the school to Pastor Rene Velasco, Senior Pastor of Word International Ministries in Frankfurt. The Donations will be used for "Haiyan" Rehabilitation.

Sta.Rosa was one of the worst affected areas in Leyte. Church volunteers were only able to reach the place by foot.


Palompon, Leyte

The Church of Word International in Palompon was badly destroyed. A few days after the storm hit the area, the church held its first Sunday Worship Service.


Mahanlod, Leyte

Some affected Areas were hard to reach by normal transportation. Church Volunteers walked miles and even rode Carabaos to reach the affected areas.

The Super-Typhoon „Haiyan" has devastated the central Philippine provinces. Thousands have died in Tacloban City. The victims have either drowned or have died in the rubble of their homes.

Typhoon "Haiyan" struck the Philippines last November 8, 2013. It has been called the most powerful storm to make a landfall in recorded history, having a wind speed of around 379 kilometers per hour. Severely affected provinces include Leyte and Samar. (Source: Tageschau)

The First Relief Operation Team of Word International Philippines has arrived in Palompon, Leyte and Cadiz, Negros Occidental.


Planning and Distribution of Relief Goods

Through donations, the Word International Ministries were able to send not only relief goods but financial aid as well to the victims. These donations were distributed personally by the coordinating pastors and church volunteers from Manila and Visayas Region


WIN Frankfurt Relief Operation

The Word International Ministries in Frankfurt sent four boxes of relief goods, clothes and shoes for the victims last November 16,2013. These Boxes were delivered directly to Cebu and from there, the goods were distributed to the different affected areas in Leyte.
